our band program

The Lake Central High School Band program has a long history of success. Just as special as these accomplishments are, so are the relationships built in the band community. Students form lasting friendships, develop as young leaders, and experience memories that will last a lifetime. The bond in each section from woodwinds to brass to percussion to color guard is strong. These students pour their energy and passion into this band program, and it shines through in their performances.

The parents and community that supports the band donates countless hours to help with equipment, travel, meals, and more, all to help the band. Many family and friends travel throughout the state and even across the country to support students as they perform. Alumni frequently attend performances in support of the band. People who become a part of the Lake Central Band family are members for life.

Tribe of Pride MArching Band

Our marching band is the largest organization in our program incorporating every person from our program. The band not only performs in support of our football team, but marches at several competitions throughout the Indiana area, including state and national competitions. The pride is know for creative and crowd pleasing performances that the students enjoy working on and presenting each year.

Concert Bands

The Lake Central Band is proud to have three concert ensembles. These groups perform a variety of concerts throughout the school year and allow the students to develop their individual musical skills in large ensembles, small ensembles, as well as individual performances. Each group is made up of hard-working musicians that enjoy performing and expressing their musicianship in a variety of ways.

Jazz Ensembles

The Lake Central Band also offers two jazz ensembles. Jazz is an important part of the music education at LCHS and it allows our students to learn and perform a wide variety of styles of music. The jazz idiom also lets student truly express their creative side through improvisation and ensemble collaborations. The Jazz ensembles perform several concerts throughout the school year.

winter programs

The LCHS Band also offers three winter performing ensembles including a Winter Guard, Indoor Percussion Ensemble, and an Indoor Winds group. These programs perform and compete at indoor competitions throughout the winter months in the Indiana area.
